We celebrate Christmas Sunday with a
Living Nativity in the Narthex of our church.
THAT’S RIGHT – live animals, including
“Ellie” the camel, will be in the presence of
the Holy Family – Mary, Joseph, and of
course, Baby Jesus. This scene will add to
the celebration of the Christmas story as
we bring it alive for all to experience.
The intent of this service which has become an annual ritual, is to
acknowledge our God as the God of our total creation. It is our purpose
to realize the interrelatedness of all creatures, both small and great.
You can bring your pets and have a red ribbon be placed on their necks,
which is the symbol of the Holy Spirit and the assurance of God’s
presence on the animal’s life.
This service is a wonderful opportunity for children of all ages to interact
with animals, strengthen their appreciation
of animals, and be reminded of the contributions that animals make to
the general welfare of all humans.
Also, weather permitting , we have a small petting zoo in the south lawn
of the church, along with a elephant and camel. The children are able to
ride the elephant for free.
